Meet Cameron the lion and Zabu the white tigress who are madly in love with each other.
Life hasn’t always been kind to the two of them, they were raised in a New England zoo for one reason only, to make ligers.
During this time, Cameron weighed 200 pounds less, and Zabu had genetic defects caused by breeding. Fortunately, both were rescued a few years later.
“When Zabu and Cameron were rescued, we built a large nature enclosure for the two of them to share as they really bond as a couple.”
Once rescued, they were moved to a new sanctuary and kept together.
But after a while, Cameron was becoming very possessive of Zabu, which posed a threat to his caretakers.
“We only had two options; separate him from Zabu forever or castrate him”
So they opted to have him neutered, which unfortunately meant she lost his majestic mane, but it’s a small price to pay to keep his true love, writes kingdomstv.com.
The two enjoy each other’s company, running around, caressing each other and taking quiet naps.
