A group of boaters for the July 4 weekend in Maryland came to the aid of a young raccoon, desperately screaming for help.
A smart crew member came up with the idea of throwing a life jacket so the animal could hang on so they could save it. With the raccoon grabbing the rescuer, they began towing the animal to land and handed it over to a zodiac to return to shore.
«In the early morning of July 4, 2016, one of our crew members aboard our boat heard a scream and at first it looked like birds over our heads,» Peter, one of the boaters, wrote on YouTube.
«Several hours later, we finally found the source of the scream – a young raccoon walking on the water on the side of the boat. Not wanting to pick it up out of the water, we threw it in a life jacket to climb on, and then towed it to land.
